DNA is actually a long and stringy molecule that needs to compact itself into the nucleus of our cells and it does this by wrapping itself in circles around protein. So it's like beads on a string and then it further coils itself in circles to make sure that it is compact enough to fit into cells. So we use pi to understand How DNA package itself into our cells.
