Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Adopt A Ridgeback Donation

 Adopt-a-Ridgeback

Between classes and homework, practice and training, travel and games, student-athletes dedicate an average of 60 to 70 hours per week to school and their sport. This major commitment leaves little opportunity for part-time jobs to help offset the rising cost of living. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in ensuring that student-athletes succeed in the classroom, in their sport and in the community.

Be part of the team that will help ensure the future success of student-athletes by making a gift to the Adopt-a-Ridgeback fund. When you support varsity athletics, you are helping develop the next generation of Ridgeback champions. One hundred per cent of your gift enhances the student-athlete experience. All funds received will be applied equally across all Ridgeback student-athletes.

Support from donors like you changes the game for our Ridgebacks and we thank you for being on our team!

Ontario Tech University employees can also support our students through monthly payroll donations

 Credit card donations

Our commitment is to ensure a sustainable, transparent, and efficient philanthropic program. To help achieve this, 5% of donations to expendable funds, with the exception of student financial support, are used to partially offset the costs of receipting, administering, tracking and distributing funds. Thank you for your support.
