Let's be honest, you don't forget the geese. Whether you remember them from your time on campus or have had to adjust your walking route accordingly, they’ve always been a memorable part of the Ontario Tech experience.

A familiar figure in a long-standing orientation tradition, Stanley the Goose represents the spirit of the Wild Goose Chase: teamwork, connection and the idea that we move further when we move forward together.

Since we opened our doors in 2003, the Wild Goose Chase has welcomed new students into our community, introducing them to an important lesson: the friends, staff and faculty around them become their “V-formation,” and will be the people who help them navigate, grow and succeed.

We invite you to be part of our current students’ V-formation, helping ensure they have the support they need to thrive. 

Why It Matters

When geese fly in formation, they travel farther by supporting one another. That same spirit defines the Ontario Tech experience. Today, many Ontario Tech students are navigating increased financial pressures, with 85% relying on financial assistance during their studies to stay on track. At Ontario Tech, we believe everyone deserves access to a world-class education, but we cannot do it alone.

For a recommended gift of $20.02, in honour of Ontario Tech’s founding year, you can name a goose in Stanley’s flock in recognition of someone who helped shape your university experience – a friend, faculty or staff member, teammate, or colleague.
