Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

2022 Chancellor's Challenge 5 km Run/Walk

Save the date, lace up your shoes and run or walk to support students!

On Saturday, September 24, join Chancellor Mitch Frazer in the Chancellor's Challenge 5 km Run/Walk to raise funds for student bursaries and scholarships.  As a champion of students and STEM education, Chancellor Mitch Frazer has committed to raising funds to support Ontario Tech students. To achieve this, he has created the Chancellor’s Fund with a $1 million goal. Supporting this goal, this year's Chancellor's Challenge will connect faculty, staff, alumni, students and the community in having fun while helping Ontario Tech students.

Register on your own, with a team of friends or family, or become part of a corporate team. The five-kilometre course winds along Ontario Tech's north campus, starting and finishing at Polonsky Commons.

Take part in this educational and energetic challenge with the whole family! Set a fundraising goal that pushes you further, then rally the support of your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to help you reach it.

Join us to help raise funds for student bursaries and scholarships. Ontario Tech students are innovators and change-makers who will improve our lives and environment in the future. Together, we can reach the finish line and support students in need.

Registration and additional event details coming soon.
