Visionary Support Drives Tech with a Conscience Campaign
Transformative Campaign Contribution
Ontario Tech is thrilled to announce a generous anonymous $4.8 million donation to its groundbreaking Tech with a Conscience campaign. This gift directly supports the university’s campus expansion, further propelling one of Ontario’s fastest-growing post‑secondary institutions. With plans to grow to 18,000 students, Ontario Tech is committed to meeting learners’ evolving needs through industry-driven programs, hands-on learning, and opportunities for reskilling and upskilling at every stage of their careers.
“Ontario Tech is more than a university; it’s a leader in shaping the future workforce,” said Dr. Steven Murphy, President and Vice‑Chancellor. “This generous donation is a pivotal step in our mission to equip students with practical skills and industry-relevant training, ensuring they are job-ready from day one. As we expand our campus and programs, we are committed to meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals in health care, AI and energy—fields that are critical to Canada’s future.”
Rinaldi Research Chair in AI and Rehabilitation
A generous investment by Jason and Riley Rinaldi will fuel the development of innovative AI-driven solutions to help people improve their mobility, independence and quality of life after an injury, illness or other difficulty. AI technologies will be applied to refine diagnosis and prognosis, personalize therapies and expand access to rehabilitation services, contributing to significant improvements in patient care. Through this gift, Dr. Carol Cancelliere will lead the work as the Rinaldi Research Chair in AI and Rehabilitation within the Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research in the university’s Faculty of Health Sciences.
